Qualifications
• North Carolina licensure or certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
•Experience working with visually impaired students, preferably in an educational setting
•Strong knowledge of adaptive techniques, assistive technology, and instructional strategies for students with visual impairments
•Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with students, parents, educators, and colleagues
 
Responsibilities
•Employment Type: Part-Time (5 hours/week - 1 hour/day)
•Duties: Providing Visual Impairment (VI) Services
•As a TVI, you will play a vital role in providing specialized support to a visually impaired student, ensuring they have equal access to education and a positive learning experience
•Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand the visual needs and learning preferences of the student
•Develop and implement individualized educational plans that address the unique needs and goals of the student
•Provide direct instruction and support to the visually impaired student, utilizing appropriate adaptive techniques and tools
•Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the student's needs are met effectively
•Adapt and modify educational materials to accommodate the student's visual impairment
•Assist in the development and implementation of the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP)
•Provide guidance and support to other school staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
•Monitor and document the student's progress, adjusting strategies as needed
